The tour begins with a pleasant drive to one of the world´s most stunning, and active, volcanoes, Poas Volcano. The best views of the volcano are actually from the highway between Arenal and Poas, so before reaching Poas Volcano National Park we will stop along the way and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view. This is an amazing site for the best photo op of one of the Western Hemisphere´s most beautiful, active, and yet accessible volcanoes.

Once we arrive to the Poas Volcano National Park we will enjoy an hour guided tour through the parks easy walking trails. The walking trails between the craters leads through the primeval rain forest that contain a stunning variety of plant & animal life. Atop the Poas Volcano sits two huge craters that are often shrouded in deep mist by the cloud forest. While not featuring any active lava flows, the main crater often emits energetic & sometimes smelly eruptions of sulphuric gases, steam, and geysers of acid lake water. Viewing the Poas crater from the safety of the visitors platform is one of the primary attractions of the tour, and one of the most spectacular views in all of Costa Rica. The second, smaller crater contains a teal blue acid lake, which is also extremely beautiful and photogenic.

Our tour continues to arguably one of the most incredible eco parks in Costa Rica, the La Paz Waterfall Gardens which provides one of most unique eco-adventure experiences in the Americas. The beautifully landscaped hiking trails of the La Paz Waterfall Gardens lead us through multi-level waterfalls, 10 exotic animal exhibits, a butterfly observatory, and aviary house. The rescue wildlife preserve at The Peace Lodge features big cats like jaguars and pumas, as well as sloths, monkeys and margays. The La Paz Waterfall Gardens provide an amazing, immersive and interactive environmental educational experience for all ages. There are scheduled feeding times for some of the animals, and a petting zoo to interact with the animals, and a Frog Exhibit and Hummingbird Garden will fulfill the the cuteness quota.

Strategically constructed platforms in the Waterfall Gardens allow visitors to enjoy the magnificence of the rain forest, and view the many waterfalls from almost every angle. Photos and selfie-sticks are encouraged! Our guides will take you up past the La Paz waterfall to the "Famous Five", a series of five cascading waterfalls, while pointing out the rich bio diversity of the flora & fauna along the way.
