Q: What is the difference between Private and Shuttle service?
A: Shuttle service is a comfortable and safe way to travel from the airport or between top tourist destinations in Costa Rica while saving money by sharing the space with fellow travelers. Unlike public bus service, you cannot just hop aboard on the day you require transportation. Shuttle transportation service is subject to availability, so it is important that you place your reservation well in advance to secure your space.
Our private transport service gives you the flexibility to customize your transportation to your vacation itinerary. Schedule your service when you wish, no waiting for shuttle departing times and travel in a personalized way just for you and your group.
Q: What kind of vehicle are you using and how many people will be sharing my transportation?
A: We use three types of vans: for 5 passengers, 7 and 10 passengers. All of our vans are air conditioned, and have full coverage insurance. Smaller vehicles are used for smaller groups as they are more environmentally friendly and the service is more personalized.
Q: How do I find you at the airport?
A:With our Shared Shuttle Services at the SJO Airport you will be greeted at the entrance of “Malinche's Restaurant” just outside the International Arrivals terminal. You will find our representatives wearing a black shirt with the Ride CR logo. They will assist you with your luggage and take you to your reserved shared vehicle.
With our Private Transportation Services you will be greeted at the entrance outside the International Arrivals terminal by one of our representatives wearing a black shirt with the Ride CR logo. For the ease of our private service guests, our representative will be carrying a sign with your name on it as well. They will assist you with your luggage and take you to your reserved vehicle.
Q: How do I find you at my hotel?
A: Just be present in your hotel lobby at the schedule time and our representative wearing a black shirt with the Ride CR logo will check in with the reception desk and provide the name on the reservation. Please do not be late as we have a tight schedule to keep.
Q: Can I pay with Credit Card when I arrive?
A: Sorry, you must pay the balance in cash upon arrival.
Q: Are there restrooms on the vehicles?
A: No, we do not have restrooms on board the vehicles. However, depending the route, we make a 15 minute stop at a Soda (local restaurant) or a Gift shop where you can purchase snacks, beverages, and use the restrooms which we ensure are well maintained and clean.
Q: How much luggage am I allowed to bring?
A: Each passenger may carry 1 large piece of luggage (suitcase) and 1 item of hand luggage. The elements of hand luggage must remain with their owners during the trip. Neither RideCR or The Real Deal Tours are responsible for lost, forgotten items or damage to items of hand luggage and that they were not supervised by the owner, this includes items incorrectly placed in the luggage area. If you wish to carry additional luggage, there is an additional fee of $15 per bag and must be noted on the reservation to ensure space.
Q: Do you have car seats available?
A: Yes, we have a limited amount of car seats available for babies up to 9 months old at no additional charge. This must be noted on the reservation form at time of booking to ensure we have one ready in the vehicle upon your arrival. Children under 4 on the parents lap are free when accompanied by 2 adults.
Q: Can my pet travel with me?
A: Pets are not allowed in our vans, with the exception of guide dogs accompanied by their owners, this information must be indicated at the time of booking.
