Departures: Limited availability during peak whale season in Costa Rica between August and September. You will need to call us to check availability. Pick up from San Jose hotels begin between 5 and 6 am daily. Exact meeting instructions will be provided on your confirmation voucher.

Children: This is a long day for small children, so the recommended minimum age for this whale watching tour from San Jose is 5 years old. Children ages 5 and 6 pay a discounted rate.
Restrictions: This tour is great for most ages and all activity levels. However, keep in mind you will need to be able to climb in and out of the speedboat. If you have any mobility limitations, please advise us prior to booking and we will assess if we can accommodate you comfortably.
Insider Tip: Marino Ballena National Park is a long ride there and back from San Jose, but if you love the whales as much as we do, it is well worth the trip. Bring along something to do for the kids and maybe some extra snacks too. There are whales from both the North and South hemispheres in Costa Rica, so there are 2 whale watching seasons. However, we do not want you to make the trip all the way from San Jose for nothing, so we ask that you have us check just availability just before your trip so we can let you know if we are season whales and operating at that time.
