BriBri Indigenous Village (Watsi)

First, we will visit the Bribri town of Watsi in the Talamanca Reserve. Here we will meet with a BriBri family that has been living under the same roof for 5 generations! They will even invite us into their homes with warmth. With the help of your extremely knowledgeable guides, we will get a glimpse into the daily lives of the BriBri tribe in Costa Rica. Your guides are able to communicate and translate the BriBri language. More importantly, they have spent a lot of time with the BriBri tribe. So, they are basically a walking Wikipedia about the BriBri culture. Except a lot more fun!

We will take a walk with the BriBri family in their gardens and learn about all the medicinal plants and their uses dating back centuries. You will also have the opportunity to observe the ancestral corn grinding process, a method they continue to use on a daily basis! Depending on the season, we can also try some of the local tropical fruits grown in the Talamanca region.

BriBri Chocolate Tour Puerto Viejo

Next up is our favorite part, well the tastiest is at least. The BriBri family will take us to their chocolate processing area where we will all get the chance to learn how the process of how to take a Cacao bean and turn it into the "drink of the gods". This is not your average chocolate tour, there is a lot more culture and history to be learned here. After the chocolate tour, we will get to sample the tasty chocolate we just helped produce! Yummy!

Discover Waterfalls in Talamanca

Last but not least, you´ll visit the Rio Catarata Waterfall. This waterfall is considered to be one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Puerto Viejo and the surroundings. You'll have time to relax and enjoy the natural pools before heading back to Puerto Viejo.
