Departures: Departs daily at 8am with a minimum of 2 people. If you are traveling solo, you can still book, but there is a chance you would be put on standby. Exact meeting instructions will be provided on your confirmation voucher.
Length: Approximately 5 hours including transportation. *If you wish to spend additional time at the beach after, please let us know on your booking form so we can arrange for later return transportation.

Children: Sorry, this tour is not suitable for children under 12 years old. The mud can get a bit thick in some places making it a bit tough for smaller legs.
Restrictions: This is a moderate hike most of the year, but rainy season can bring a lot of mud making it a bit more challenging. Participants must be in good physical condition to participate. The paths on this tour have a certain degree of difficulty and are not suitable for pregnant women and persons with physical or cardiac problems. It is necessary to wear appropriate foot gear, such as climbing or trekking boots. In rainy season if we have to cross the river and you are wearing heavier trekking boots you do not want to get wet, we will just take off our shoes, cross barefoot, then stop and put them back on.
Insider Tip: There are several different hiking tours in Gandoca Manzanillo Refuge, some more challenging than others. Don't let the mud scare you. The amount of wildlife here is well worth the trek. You will also see wildlife here that you will not usually find in the other National Parks in Costa Rica as the Gandoca Reserve is a bit more off the beaten path.
