Departures: Public tour runs Saturdays only at 8:00am for snorkeling & 1:30 pm for sunset from Herradura Beach. Start times vary slightly depending the season. Pick ups start 30 minutes prior. Exact meeting instructions will be provided on your confirmation voucher via email.
Length: Approximately 4 hours for the morning tour & 5 hours for the afternoon tour.
Subwing Snorkeling & Playa Mantas Beach Day Recommendations:
- * Light layered clothing for the beach
- * Swimsuit & Towel (make sure your swimming clothes are secure for the subwing activity)
- * Biodegradable sunblock or UV protective clothing
- * Sun hat or sunglasses
- * Camera (waterproof casing recommended)
- * Downloaded music you can connect to boat via Bluetooth (Wi-Fi connection not available)
- * Additional food and beverages you can store in the cooler on board if you wish

Children: All ages welcome on board and at the beach. Snorkeling & Subwing activities will depend on your child’s size and swimming ability.
Restrictions: Subwing is a water sport that requires good physical condition and prior swimming & snorkeling experience. You will also need to be able to climb into and out of the boat as there is no pier.
Insider Tip: This is a great little speedboat to explore the lesser visited beaches to the North of Jaco. Be sure to keep your camera handy. The only other guests you will likely find at Playa Mantas is the monkeys. Thus, why the locals call it Monkey Beach. And for the subwing activity, we advise VERY secure swimwear. Ladies, a rash guard over your suit is always a good idea and make sure your bottoms are cinched up tight!
Important Booking Note: The public tour operates Saturdays only with a minimum of 4 guests. Any other day of the week we can operate a private tour for groups of up to 8 to 10 pax. We have 2 speedboats available. Contact us for a quote.
Costa Rica Cruise Ship Passengers: For active families traveling together, this is a great shore excursion in Costa Rica. If you are a group of 4 or more, we can alter the times to fit your cruise ship itinerary. We can also provide transportation from Puntarenas & Caldera cruise ship ports for an additional cost, or you can taxi to meet the boat on Herradura Beach which is just less than an hours drive from your cruise pier.
