Departures: Wednesdays – Sundays (Operator requires a minimum of 10 persons to operate the tour, see notes below*).
Length: 8 Hours from Puntarenas Pier, approximately 11 hours with transportation depending your hotel.
Approximate Itinerary:
- 8:30 am: Hotel pick ups
- 10:00 am: Arrive to Puntarenas Pier to board the boat
- 11:00 am: Arrive to Isla San Lucas Prison & guided tour
- 1:00 pm: Lunch on Isla San Lucas
- 2:00 pm: Hike to Cocos Beach monkey sanctuary & beach time
- 3:30 pm: Board the boat for Isla Pajaros bird watching
- 4:45 pm: Arrive back to Puntarenas Pier
- 5:00 pm: 1 Hour free time to explore the Puntarenas beach front boardwalk & shops
- 6:00 pm: Board transportation for return
- 7:00 pm: Arrive back to Jaco

Children: Children ages 3 to 11 pay a discounted rate. Children under 3 are free!! The history of Isla San Lucas Prison is fascinating, but also maybe a bit too creepy for children.
Restrictions: This tour is suitable for most all ages so long as you do not have mobility issues. You will need to be able to walk a good distance on the island during the tours.

*Minimum Booking Note: Departures to Isla San Lucas from San Jose & Jaco require a minimum of 4 passengers. If there are less than 4 in your group, contact us and we can check available dates. You can also opt to drive yourself to Puntarenas Pier for departure at the discounted rate. But the minimum of 10 total pax is required to operate the tour regardless of your departure location.
