Departing from Herradura Beach, you will first board a water taxi that will take you to the Ashuma. Prepare to get wet up to your knees to be able to climb into the water taxi for the short cruise out to the sailboat. No shoes on board, so just leave your sandy shoes on the water taxi and be ready to relax on board or in the water for the rest of the day.

The Ashuma Sailing Catamaran

The 25' Sea Runner Trimaran was hand crafted in Costa Rica and perfectly designed for the calm Pacific waters of Herradura Bay. She is 16' wide giving you plenty of lounging space on board. There is space for all of you to stretch out over the nets and fly over the ocean while seeking out marine life. There is also a convertible Bimini top to provide shade while sailing. Or there is a comfortable shaded cockpit area with comfortable seating for up to 6 to escape the sun and munch on snacks. The boat is very stable and low to the water. This makes it easy to get on and off the boat with the help of a small ladder. And you can even dangle your feet over the edge while sailing!

Customize Your Own Private Sailing Charter in Jaco, Costa Rica

We can customize a sailing excursion just for you and 5 of your closest friends and family. You can include food and beverages, or just bring your own. We can do a quick sunset sail for a couple of hours, or you can make a full day of it. We have excellent snorkeling equipment and we can even throw out a fishing line. Three and 4 hour charters are our most recommended, but the choice is yours. It is your own private sailing charter after all.

Itinerary Possibilities for your Jaco Sailing Excursion

2 Hour Sailing Charter: Two hours is lovely for a short sunset cruise as you would be limited to sailing just inside Herradura Bay. If your idea is snorkeling or exploring, we would recommend more time.

3 - 4 Hour Sailing Charter: Three hours can take you south of Herradura to a small bay called Escondida (hidden bay). Here you will find some great snorkeling options and a nice scenic area to sail. In 4 hours, we would pretty much visit the same area, but more relaxed since plenty of time.

5-7 Hour Sailing Charter: This is a great way to explore a bit more, maybe hit a couple snorkeling spots, but you would spend a lot more time anchored or swimming into the beach. That is a long time in the sun, so we do not recommend full day charters to people that are not accustomed to it.
